Jeeps 4 SAR at Jeepfest

Shared from Jeeps4sar but we wanted to give them recognition. Thank you as well goes out to those volunteers that helped fill in at JeepFest when Jeeps4sar was called out.  Great job!

While at the Sheriff's JeepFest we were lined up for the night ride as caboose. The sheriff received a desperate call from a Jeeper that was on a trail that collapsed out from under his Jeep and was balancing over a 30+ foot drop. The group...
was from Mississippi and had no idea where to get help at this time of night and in as remote an area as they were in. We were asked to go and we did. Without hesitation Jesse Flickinger volunteered to roll with me. A tremendous shout out goes to Jesse who is a master rigger. We literally had to pull the JK Unlimited sideways up a 30 degree slope from an angle. We used every rope (including my virgin Bubba Rope), strap, block, pulley, shackle and lashing I had with me.
Doing search and rescue work can be trying at times. In SAR many times the event does not end with a good resolution. When you are called out it is most always in the middle of the night, it's raining ice cubes and you had one of those days when you are just so exhausted and can't wait to lay you head down on your favorite pillow.
However, it is notes like the following that make it all worth while:

Dear Mr. Baker:
How can we ever repay you or Thank you for your generous service...
Upon our visit to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Sheriff's Jeep Festival in Pickens county, we hardly expected what was to come.  My husband made a decision that could have been detrimental to our family.  Yes, that's right, when he decided to climb a mountain in his new 2012 Jeep Sahara, that by-the-way, is what we call a "Mall-Crawler". You must know, that he does not let dirt or rain get on this Jeep.  "It is his baby" !!!!  When that tire creeped off the side of that mountain, not only could he have lost his life, but his "baby" (jeep) too.  Our group, "The Gulf Coast Jeep Club", started putting their heads together to see what could be done to save the Jeep from tumbling off the side of the mountain.  At this point, myself/Kim/wife/"fixer of all things in our family", had to realize that this was not left up to me and I could not fix it, I had to rely on the man who could. {GOD}  The ladies in our group were in continuous prayer, we did not cease praying for hours and daily thanking him for his Amazing Grace.  We continue to Thank GOD for his many blessings that he bestows upon us daily.  Jerry, a friend with the group, made a phone call the Pickens County Sheriff and by the grace of God he answered, not only his phone but our prayers.  The Sheriff put us in touch with two Angels that came on top of that mountain around midnight to rescue our Jeep.  This was an answered prayer, I knew GOD was hearing us... You two were sent to be our saving grace. The work that you do is truly amazing and I know you have made so many families as happy as we were and are. Thank you again with all of our heart !!!!!  We will never be able to repay you for your kindness.  We will pay it forward as much as possible.  We are always helping others and now we know what it feels like for someone to help/care.  We are so blessed.
My friend I hope you know God can move mountains !!!  God is Good !!!
